We are all aware of the stereotype of vampires, blood sucking creatures that are more beast than man, preying on humans in the dark of night.
This section is designed to illuminate the different types of vampires known throughout occult circles, and why these “creatures” exist as they do.
Psychic Vampires
Also termed: Energy Vampires, Psi/Psy Vamps, Pranic Vampires, Empathic Vampires, Energy Predators, Psionic Vampire & Energy Parasite.
There can be numerous reasons for psychic vampires, the most common being an irreparable problem with one of the chakra’s, this could be a chakra that is broken/damaged, cracked so that energy continually leaks, and even missing chakras.
It is not known fully why this happens in people, however when these problems do occur, you get what is known as a psychic vampire.
Psychic vampires must take energy from others, whether it be through consent or through stealing.
When chakras are damaged, the continual flow of energy throughout these energy centres is severely affected. If there is a chakra missing, that limits much of the original energy that could be opened and allowed to progress, so the need for taking that, and making up for it is essential.
If the chakra is broken or damaged in any way, this stunts the flow of energy, and can create extra blockages; less growth and development in the abilities that are associated with the damaged/broken chakra etc.
For the person with the damaged/missing chakra to progress in their development and just in keeping the flow of energy steady, they need to take energy from elsewhere, that does not necessarily mean other people, it can be from many different areas.
Types/Classes

There are two kinds of psy-vamps: unAwakened and Awakened; as well as generally 4 “classes”: elemental, symbiotic, sexual and emotional. (There are also other classes, such as Astral, Learned, and Symapthetic, which will also be explained).
Un-awakened psy-vamps, like with any creature, are simply psy-vamps who do not yet realise who they are. They feed unconsciously – you may get this with others who seemingly “steal your energy” without you knowing, and you become tired after talking with them. You know that they are, but they do not realise what they are doing.
Awakened psy-vamps are psy-vamps who know they are what they are, and consciously feed (usually).
At this point, it needs to be clarified: though the following are “classes” (as in, types of psy-vamps), the writer feels that these are simply more inclined as preferred feeding methods, and that it believes that just because one is one type of psy-vamp does not mean you cannot feed off of any other type’s method. This one “started” as an Emotional vampire (who fed off of emotions, not desired emotional encounters), then moved to Elemental and Sexual feeding, and finally settled on Symbiotic, feeling it is the preferred “food”. A vampire is born, not made. In no way is any vampire type any better or worse than any other type; it is how the actual vampire lives the life that defines the type for the individual.
Sympathetic vampires
These individuals have a tendency to have a broken chakra or wounded essence that can be healed. Sympathetics also can be the actual host who has allowed the vampire to feed off of them that temporarily takes on the vampiric tendencies. Note, these are almost always temporary.
Learned Psychic vampires
These are the skilled psion/energy workers that feed off of psychic energy. They choose to feed for the sake of feeding, trying to pass off as psy-vamps, when they are not.
Elemental vampires
Elemental vampires are the ones who basically feed off of Nature/Earth through thunderstorms, rainfalls, rivers, wind blowing… anything nature-based or nature-based events.
It should be mentioned that though there are “true” Elementals (where they strictly feed off of nature), there are some psy-vamps who feed on the elements only because their primary source (be it emotion or sexual, etc), has not been found, and are using this as a way to remain fed until they can find a suitable primary source.
Sexual vampires
These vampires tend to be, obviously, sexual, feeding on what is known as the core energy of the Universe. (Any species is primarily sexual in nature, thus why sexual energy/intercourse is known as the “core”.) Any touch, caress, moan or breath is drawn and experienced, giving both extreme pleasure and one of the most wonderful/purest of food. (Also, this can be damaging as well, because an excess of a “pure energy” to a body unfit or incapable of handling said energy can weaken destroy it.)
Emotional vampires
Apparently, there are 3 types of emotional vampires: “drama” (social), “needy” (relationship), and strict “emotional” (those who feed off of emotions). The writer would like to thank psyvamp.org for the clarification, since it never really considered the social/relationship as “true” vampires (just weak human leeches/attachments.)
Drama/social vampires are the kind where they absolutely NEED drama, they LOVE being the centre of attention and/or creating drama in order to feed off of it.
Need/relationship vampires cannot support themselves, they NEED a relationship – these are the kinds you see who validate their existence on relationships (in other words, without a relationship, they are not worthy of anything or it is not worth living if one is not in a relationship).
Emotional vampires actually feed off of emotions. They may deliberately create a situation to feed off of the specific emotion to their liking (for example, they create happiness to feed off happy emotions); however, they do not necessarily do so. They do not have to stick with one emotion (just happiness or just sadness), they can pick and choose what emotion to feed off of.
Symbiotic vampires
Symbiotic vampires specifically drain negative emotion/sickness – if you are sad and have a symbiotic around, you will tend to feel better, if not happier and/or healthier. Symbiots remove the negative energy, “recycle” it in their body, and turn it to neutral feeding.
Astral-Symbiotic vampires
There is variation when it comes to these, but the general story is that they are sentient thought forms that go un-checked and are long enough around to develop into some sort of consciousness. There is also theories that astral vampires are “undead gods”.
