Like many of the Ancient religions, the Greek’s were no different, they were polytheistic, meaning they worshipped and believed in numerous gods and goddesses. These ranged from Gods of the sun, to Gods of victors
Each of the Gods/Goddesses would control one or two of the major aspects of life, this could be the elements in contrast to that of social status throughout a town or city
Temples were built to honour the gods or goddesses. Each God or Goddess had a temple built in their honour in specific towns. The ceremonies held here would often be the sacrificing of animals while the festivals centered around these temples would include, theatrical pieces, music, dancing
All Gods in the Greek mythology were believed to reside in Mount Olympus and as stated above, each had a specific role
Temples were not the only places to be used to communicate or have questions answered by the Gods, many people would see Oracles who would listen to nature after hearing or reading your question, thus whatever sounds divulged from nature was the answer of the Gods
